Biographical / Historical
The journals of Martha Bell were used in an online blog in 2023-2024 to show the experiences of a college student in the final year Whitworth was in Tacoma. She also attended Whitworth in the fall of 1914 in Spokane. Some of the additional research is included in the collection from newspapers and genealogy sites that give a fuller picture of Martha Bell’s life as a student and as a librarian. She was the Library Director at Randolph Macon Women’s College for many decades. She was born in 1894 and died just shy of her 103rd birthday.See A College Year 1913-1914 : A Year in the life of two Whitworth College Students at https://whitwortharchives.wordpress.com/home/
