Biographical / Historical
“The Eric Johnston Science Center was constructed in 1966 with a gift from the Eric Johnston Foundation. A grant from the National Science Foundation, along with private and corporate donations, allowed an extensive renovation of the building in 1998-1999. All three science departments -- biology, chemistry, and physics -- were located there, as are classrooms, labs, a library, two greenhouses and a state-of-the-art science auditorium and lecture hall.” When the Robinson Science Center opened the Biology and Chemistry moved there and Johnston contained the Physics and Engineering and Mathematics and Computer Science Departments. A Further split occurred with the opening of the Dornsife Health Sciences Building in 2022.
