Biographical / Historical
In 1923, Dr. Douglas and Grace Corporon sailed for China to begin their mission work. After months of language and other training, they were sent to their field in November of 1924 located at the Luchowfu Christian Hospital in Hofei. There they experienced loss of home and family, political unrest, medical emergencies and tribulations from a turbulent time in Chinese history. In 1941, the Corpron family were sent home due to the war and Dr. Corpron returned shortly after the war and his family followed in 1947. The Communist takeover ended the Missionary work in China by 1949 but the collection stretches past that point with other missionary endeavors.
