Historical Note
C. Davis Weyerhaeuser was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 22, 1909. He joined the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company in 1933 and retired from active management in 1959. He became a trustee of Whitworth College in 1941, retiring from that Board in 1980. He was awarded a Honorary Doctor of Laws degree by Whitworth College. He died on April 27, 1999.
This file begins with extensive correspondence with Frank Warren, President of Whitworth College, with whom Weyerhaeuser had a warm personal relationship. It ends with letters to William P. Robinson, President of Whitworth University. Weyerhaeuser was a strong financial supporter of the college and provided thoughtful advice to Warren and succeeding administrators concerning the management of the college during some difficult times.
